Will you be my lucky star?

I love this lamp that I won from Ruth and Ollie! It's the bomb. Look how cool the orange interior reflects against the mirrored base? It's a show stopper in my home. Thank you, Ruth and Ollie!!

Here's another piece that I randomly won from a Richmond Magazine revamp contest. I love to decorate on a dime and revamp old things. You can imagine how pleased as punch i was to win this! The Richmond Mag team transformed this thrift store find. It's the sturdiest home office chair ever! Thank you, Rich Mag!

Soiree AT YOUR SERVICE!

Balloons, streamers, cake pops, candy ...the list is endless. I love a party! Who doesn't?

I would be a kid in the candy store if I made my living planning parties. My friends know that I love to spruce up any kind of party with swizzel sticks and trinkets galore. BRING ON THE PUNCH! Check out these drinking straws I found the other day. Can you stand it?

As the Trash to Treasure Turns...

This was one of my first DIY's. I love seeing the finished results after the blood, sweat and tears of decorating. Yard sale scouting is so fun! I bought 5 chairs at a little ole sale for $5 each. I couldn't resist!! The seller said these chairs were from the 50's and were used in his mom's kitchen.

I was SOLD. The lines and style of the chairs were ideal for my dining area. I painted them black and covered the seats.

Voila! My girl math tells me that my $35 investment ($25.oo chairs + $10 in fabric) brings me to a chic set of chairs that look $600.00. Well, maybe that's a stretch, but they make me smile!

Here's a sneak peek!

Pillow Talk.

So here's the drill.....These are some pillows that I made for my home. I didn't discover the passion of hunting down fab fabrics until I became a home owner. My condo is pretty much decked out with some of my fave fabrics. This leaves me to bug my sisters about my project ideas for their homes.

U-Fab, a hidden gem in Richmond, is where I have bought most of my fabric for pillows and such. The reasonable prices and bright fabrics will make you sssssqqquuueeeallll! Can I get an OINK??!

Let me just start off saying that I am addicted to creativity. Is it a problem? Maybe. Others may think so. I can't seem to sit still- I always have to be making something in my free time. But it's what makes me tick.

I am fortunate to have grown up with a very hands-on and creative mom. As a child, I was surrounded by her projects. She made our dresses, knitted puppets for our puppet shows, designed games for our birthday parties, baked with us-you name it! She is the most creative person I know!

When I got to be about 15, I realized that the phrase "Oh, we can MAKE this! We don't need to buy it!" got very old. Shopping was much more fun! The last thing I wanted to do was get the supplies and make the treasures I googoogaga-ed over in the stores.

Times have changed.

Don't get me wrong...I still LOVE to shop, but my creativity is in full force! Sometimes I wonder: "Is this overkill?" Do I really need to make 6 pillows for my living room? Are there too many colors in my oil painting? Do I really need all of these patterns in my dining room? Exactly how many chatches (sp?) are lining my bookshelves? My gut tells me NO! There can never be too much "pow and punch"! You'll see...

My new blog, Punch Bowl Studio will portray a blend of my love for creating and shopping. ENJOY!
